在蘇黎世試了很美味的瑞士餐, thanks so much for Michelle & her family! the food is so tasty!

有raclette, 又有 truffle ravioli, 再有黑毛豬 Parma ham, 最後再加 home made dessert 同一杯牛奶汽水, 由 7pm 食到 12pm...真的不得了!

這天用了大半天遊覧梵諦崗同西班牙廣場, 其實都已經攰到無胃口食飯, 但係又不想錯過羅馬的美食, 最終在 Barberini Metro 站憑直覺走入一間名謂 Enoteca Barberini Ristorante (link) 的餐廳吃晚餐.

首先先order左支Acqua, 沒有什麽特別, 不是很大支但都要$4 EUR, Thanks!


然後再order一碟牛油果沙律 Insalata Avocado, 材料新鮮, 有好多芝士, 粟米粒同牛油果, 正!

跟住上枱的係 Tonnarelli cacio e pepe Pasta, 這款pasta的材料很簡單, 只有芝士 (Tonnarelli Cheess), 胡椒粉同意粉, 但出奇地當這三種配料加起一齊, 果種香味會係口同舌度好有層次的走出來. 但可惜在香港不是很容易找到這款pasta, what a pity! 如果你有機會到羅馬, 記緊要試下!

After visiting Vatican and Piazza di Spagna, I was already very tired and no appetite to eat anything. However, I would feel guilty if I could not try the delicious food in Rome, and so, without  any serious planning and thinking, me and my wife just picked a restaurant called Enoteca Barberini Ristorante (link) around Barberini Metro Station and had our dinner.

As usual, we ordered a bottle of water and as it is nothing special, I just skip it.

Then we ordered Insalata Avocado salad and it was full of cheese, corn, avocado and other vegetable. The avocado and vegetable were so fresh and sweet. So, if you go to there for lunch / dinner, it is worth to order this salad or other salad for a try!

After we finished the salad, I ordered Tonnarelli cacio e pepe for a try. Actually, the ingredients of this pasta were very simple, it only had Tonnarelli Cheess, Pepper and, of coarse the pasta. But after all of them cooked together, it became a very delicious dish. When I ate it, my tongue could taste the pepper, then the cheese and finally the mixture of pepper and cheese with the al dente pasta. So luckily I could have this pasta in Roma as it is hard to find this kind of pasta in Hong Kong. If you travel to Roma next time, please don't forget to try the Tonnarelli cacio e pepe.

許願池, 傳說是只要你向後投擲錢幣就會再回到羅馬, 你相信嗎?  Anyway, 今天我許了一個願, 希望會成真啦! :P

因為沒有做 research, 所以只好憑直覺去找東西吃. 就在許願池旁有一間 ristorante 叫 al Picchio (link) 度食羅馬的第一次晚餐.

依次我們 order 左水一支 (意大利無免費水供應), Seafood Risotto, Parma ham pizza 同薯條 (奇! 又在意大利 order 美國嘢) 同免費的麵包. 支水無特別, 不過就成 3 EUR (Naturale 指無氣), "生命之源", 無辨法! D麵包都係無特別, 只係硬! 所以我見唔多本地人食D麵包.

好! 輪到果Seafood Risotto, 果飯D海鮮種類雖然多又新鮮同冇雪味, 但可惜這次的主角是燉飯或焾飯. D飯偏硬但有口感, Al Dente! 而且D汁(高湯)有一種海鮮同白酒的味道, 毎食一啖都是享受.

再到個 Parma ham pizza, 簡簡單單的一個pizza, 咬第一下時你先會感受到脆脆同炭爐新鮮焗出來的香同熱, 再咬一下時你會感受到芝士的濃, 最後到D Parma ham 時, 你會感受到火煺的咸香但帶甜的口味. 一個pizza可以滿足你的味蕾, 實在不得了!

在意大利不論男女都能吃光全個 pizza, 但我們合二人之力, 最後還是不能完全食清光, 罪過罪過!

最最後, 意大利人餐餐都要有紅 / 白酒作伴, 可惜本人不敢飮醉之後留落街頭, 唔識路返酒店, 所以冇叫酒飲, 可惜可惜!

April 15, 2013 - Dinner at the Roma Fontana di Trevi

Do you want your wish comes true? If yes, please goto the Fontana di Trevi, back to it, throw a coin and make a wish sincerely. Once you do all of it, I strongly believe your wish will come true!

So what's good to eat around that famous sightseeing spot? I had no clue when I was there and it's my bad that I missed to do the research before the trip. So we just ran into a ristorante called al Picchio (link) at the corner and we ordered a bottle of still water (yes, no tap water to provide in Italy), seafood risotto, parma ham pizza and french fries for our first dinner in Italy.

For seafood risotto, I can see it's really "al dente". Seafood was fresh but I could say it is the "supporting character" only. Risotto was the "major character" as the every piece of rice was creamy, had some resistance and was covered by seafood source with white wine. Every bite was so enjoyable.

For the parma ham pizza, "hot and crispy" was the first signal my brain received from my tongue  Then the second signal was the smell and taste of cheese in which it was perfectly match with thin crust and parma ham since the cheese was not so strong. The third signal was from the parma ham in which the taste of ham was so sweet. In short, I wanted to shout "Mamma Mia" when I was eating the pizza

For french fries, the taste was OK but i picked the wrong choice in wrong country....whatever!

Bases on my observation, every Italian can finish a whole piece of pizza. But for me and my wife, it was so challenging to finish all the slices....what a shame! Besides, Italian must order a cup of Red / White wine for dinner. However, I didn't want to get drunk and get lost on my way back to Hotel in Italy, so I opt out idea of enjoying wine with risotto and pizza...what a shame again!

小弟同太太第一次去歐洲玩, 第一站是意大利的羅馬, 雖然一句意大利文都唔識, 但無阻去增廣見聞的決心 (是關小弟都唔細, 依家唔玩都唔知幾時有得玩!)


OK, 酒店Check-In完後, 立即跑去羅馬最繁忙的鐵路站-Roma Termini 揾野食先. 見到一間叫VyTa Boulangeria Italiana (link) 的輕食餐館 (主要serve sandwiches, panini, pizza 同 coffee), 見入面有唔少人, 唔想太多就衝入去試下.

我點左個Otranto (Buffalo's mozzarella DOP, turkey, dried tomatoes and olive oil) , 太太點左個Milano (Turkey, rocket salad, mozzarella and olive oil). 兩個panini都好好味, 好新鮮, 充滿olive oil味. 但係個麵包就硬左D, 有少少食唔慣, 不過好重麥味, 好香, 意大利的麵包就是這樣, 入鄉隨族啦!

食完個panini後, 當然要叫杯咖啡“品味”一下, 所以我就order左杯Mocha, 諗住杯Mocha會好似香港"星巴X"果種, 點知原來係杯Espresso. 我當時先醒起意大利是沒有Mocha, Mocha是美國的. 所以當我order Mocha 時, 果意大利 counter 姐姐就意謂我想要杯用Moka Pot沖的Espresso. 不過錯有錯著, 杯Espresso真的很香濃 很滑, 飲完後有種甜味留在口裏, 你們看到杯Espresso的掛杯現象就知杯咖啡非比尋常!

April 15, 2013 - First Meal in Rome

This is my first time to visit Europe. My wife and me were feeling very so excited even we don't know how to speak Italian language. Anyway, the first stop is Rome, Italy....Ciao!

After we did the check-in in the hotel, we rushed back to Roma Termini (one of the busiest train & metro stations in Rome) for our first meal and we came across a cafe called VyTa Boulangeria Italiana (link) which serve sandwiches, panini, pizza and coffee. There were quite a lot of people inside and so we decided to have a try in there.

I ordered Otranto (Buffalo's mozzarella DOP, turkey, dried tomatoes and olive oil) and my wife ordered Milano (Turkey, rocket salad, mozzarella and olive oil). OMG! Both of the panini were so delicious, the vegetable was so fresh, the mozzarella was so yummy and all of them were full of the taste of olive oil! I think it's really hard to find something similar in Hong Kong....!?

After we finished the panini, I ordered a cup of Mocha which I thought it just like the one in "Starbuxks. Actually I was wrong when the waitress passed me the coffee and it was an Espresso. When I saw the Espresso, I rang the bell that Mocha is an American product which there is no such thing in Italy. Anyhow, I ordered wrong coffee, but I made a right choice accidentally. The Espresso was so rich and powerful, the taste of coffee was running inside my month again and again....Delizioso!!!

OK! That's our first meal in Rome and it made us a day! After we finished it, we rushed to our first sightseeing spot - Colosseo...!!!

再興燒爉 @ 灣仔 – 叉飯的浪漫

從港島區搬到九龍區居住同工作後,  就已經再沒有去再興燒爉食叉燒飯.  難得今日屋企無飯開, 決定去灣仔整碟飯浪漫吓!

晚飯時段, 人流不絕, 好在角落有一個位, 如果唔係就要企門口等位 (食碟叉燒飯都要等位, 依間嘢真巴閉).

ANYWAY, 一坐低立即ORDER 一碟半肥瘦叉燒飯一碟蘿白. 先講碟飯,  半肥瘦叉燒肥瘦比例剛剛好, 叉燒味有層次, 不會太甜, 而肉質軟滑鬆軟又不覺有筋,  再加入馳名的甜豉油,  D味道就
好似魚水之歡咁, 融合一齊, 舌頭大動,好味!


再講碟蘿白, 看似平平無奇, 但當放入口一咬就發覺D蘿白鲜甜無比果種甜不是死甜, 非筆墨能形容, 如果你去再興食飯, 叫碟蘿白試吓你就知.


雖然沒有青島, 但吃罷令男人感到浪漫的一餐, 暫時只有再興燒爉做得到!

Joy Hing Roasted Meat @ Wan Chai


Guys, you know what BBQ pork is and I don't want to waste time to explain this traditional but super delicious Cantonese style roasted meat.

So, to be honest, the BBQ pork that u have in your countries is not that good but once you have tried it in Joy Hing Roasted Meat, then you will know how to identify the best and worst BBQ pork. You can enjoy the taste of sweet honey with soft, tender texture BBQ pork piece by piece in there. If you are visiting Hong Kong and you have not tried this BBQ pork, it's a shame! 

Well, you don't have to trust me. You just need to go there, have a try and see I am bull shit or not!

GREEN CAFÉ @ 尖沙咀 - 停一停, GREEN 一 GREEN / GREEN@HOTEL ICON, TST


GREEN CAFÉ @ 尖沙咀 – 停一停, GREEN GREEN

星期六無事忙, 來到 HOTEL ICON 的 GREEN CAFÉ 作一個下午茶小休. 因為中午已經飲完茶食咗個飽,所以都唔係十分肚餓,反而想食D甜品同飮杯咖啡CHEER UP !

! 我就點咗一個黑芝蔴朱古力杯子蛋榚同一杯Mocha試一試 (! 細路係朱古力怪). 先說個杯子蛋榚, topping cream 充滿黑芝蔴味, 沒有膩口的感覺, 吃完全無負擔, 無必要為多咗卡路里而擔心. cake 有朱古力味又不太甜, 沒有過乾或鬆散的弊病, 口感都是濕潤綿密的當時有衝動再order多一個encore, 不過依個機會都係留番下次.



!再試下杯 Mocha. Illy 出品的咖啡有一定水凖 ( 雖然我最希望係來自也門的摩卡咖啡豆), Anyway, 杯 Mocha不過不失, 咖啡味重左D,蓋左朱古力味, 有點似不騷不癢的感覺, 不過飲去時有一種酸的味度, 這樣挽回不時分數.



還有GREEN 的服務生有水準, 相當專業.

作為一間大學的訓練基地, 甜品同咖啡有這樣的成績, 己經是不錯了. 當然也有需要改善的地方. 不論如何, 本人作為紅磚牆的舊生, 會繼續支持 GREEN 同 HOTEL ICON 的不同岀品.

You miss cup cake? I bet you do. So how about stop by GREEN Café of Hotel ICON in TST for having some refreshment? The café servers high quality essert, cup cake and coffee with a very relaxing environment. By the way, this hotel is run by Hong Kong Polytechnic University and most of the staffs in there are students. Although the students are just intern, their services are very professional.

So next time, go there to enjoy the relaxing moment with a cup of coffee and other sweet pastry after you have finished sighting / shopping in TST.

有緣小敍 @  佐敦 – 一條麵的故事

中大一條鞭的故事我相信你應該聽過, 佐敦一條麵的故事你又知唔知?

話說果頭有間小店叫有緣小敍, 做的是陜西菜, 毎個入去食東西的人, 開始時都是頭耸耸,面色帶點蒼白, 但是食完後就眼濕濕, 面红耳熱鼻頭帶汗水, 舌頭永遠覺得唔足夠的感覺. 每次我的同事食完後都神不守舍, 但又大叫食得過瘾又好味我好奇心重, 今日決定約班同事Lunch走去試一試.


小店真是小店, 大约只有一四 至十五個位子, 好在我們正午十二點就到, 如果唔係, 遲多五至十分鐘一個空位都無. 今日食的主題是陜西/西安大盤雞和Biang Biang

第一度菜:  大盤雞 (需早一日預訂):  一大盤辣雞, 不求賣相, 只求味道,  味道濃香而不過雞先炸後煮, 吸收辣汁精華後, 滋味無限. 老闆娘特意叮囑我們要趁熱吃, 才不枉美味 .


第二度菜: 茴香餃子加Biang Biang : 先說餃子. 茴香, 也有人稱她為懷香”, 莖葉有香味, 常作餃子饀料, 在香港比較難食到, 故不得不試, 饀料新鮮實在有香味, 餃子皮軟綿綿又滑.  Biang Biang 麵是一條長而寛的麵,一碗只有一條,麵身光滑純白,口感幼滑又彈牙, 好味! 再加上辣醬,芽菜,炸蒜,蔥粒等作伴,茴香餃子和Biang Biang 麵將所有精華吸收, 食得起勁滋味!



本人喜歡小店, 尤其是有心經營的小店, 因為小店總能帶給食客驚喜. 很高興香港還有這種小店, 食得面红又耳熱, 又有汗水, 再有眼水. 希望有緣小敍生意興隆,繼續為香港人提供地道又有特色的陜西菜.

Small Bistro for Shanxi food @ Jordan

You want to try some exciting thing in Hong Kong? How about having a bowl of hot and spicy Shanxi noodle with dumplings? It's not not like the traditional canton style spicy food, it's the northern style which will make your tongue feels spicy and your lips feel numb. Furthermore, the dumplings are northern style as well in which the stuffing is full of the taste of herbs.

If you want to feel high and excitement (i meant the legitimacy one) when you are traveling in Hong Kong, be sure don't miss this small Bistro called "有緣小敍" in Jordan by trying this hot and spicy Shanxi food
